Around the Green Wheel calendar is a super-simple seasonal calendar featuring a different plant for every month of the year. It is offered here as a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD for you to print yourself for your own use.
I first started making my own wall calendars in 2014 because I couldn’t find any that were exactly what I wanted: super simple and seasonal with room for writing important reminders (and paper that is nice to write on!). Since then, making the calendars has become an important yearly ritual — an opportunity to reflect on how the natural world of plants (both cultivated and wild) reveals new marvels every month here in the Pacific Northwest where I live and farm.
My favorite way to hang this calendar is using a clipboard and hanging that on a nail on the wall of our dining room. This makes it easy to take down to write on and I can slip other important papers there too to keep track of them (concert tickets, event info, etc.). Other people like to post several months at a time on a bulletin board so they can see their family’s longer-term plans.
