Calendars, mugs + more!
October is here, which means we’re solidly in the season of early morning mist, spiderwebs, spooky decorations, and everything cozy. I am LOVING the fall vibe over here, and it also has me in end-of-the-year planning mode (already!). Specifically, I’m thinking about CALENDARS and holiday GIFTS!
Shop is live! + 2023 calendar
Are you thinking about such things yet too? Maybe not yet! But whenever you’re ready, I’ve got you covered on my new online shop, where you can now buy my 2023 Around the Green Wheel calendar as a digital download. I’ve been making some version of this calendar since 2014, and it has been fun (and surprising!) to watch it evolve over the years from something I made just for myself and friends into something that many people can enjoy all year long.
If you prefer to buy a print copy, several awesome Oregon stores have it in stock: Alchemist’s Jam in McMinnville, Chapters Books and Coffee in Newberg, and Local Faire in Lincoln City.
Mugs!
But, wait! There’s more on my online shop too! ‘Tis the season for curling up with a hot beverage and a book or show, and perhaps you need a new mug? Check out my new line of vegetable mugs! Choose your favorite or buy the whole set so that everyone in the family can drink from one at breakfast. (The pink kale mug also has a black handle variation!) Making products with my illustrations has been a dream of mine for awhile now, and I’m planning to add more such items to my website as we get deeper into fall. Let me know if you have ideas of products you’d like to see. I’ll keep you updated as I add!
And, are you looking for something to read while you sip your hot beverage from your new colorful mug? I have a new graphic essay about the “Three Sisters” companion planting method in Farmer-ish journal’s 2022 print annual — available for sale now here. It’s full of cozy content for everyone to enjoy: poetry, book reviews, photographs, essays, and more!
Building my farm family team + free articles
I’m also still gathering my farm family team for the upcoming book about farming and parenting! Want to learn more about how to get involved? Find lots of information about the book here. Want to just read more about farming and parenting now? Growing for Market magazine has made three of my recent articles available for FREE on their website, which you can find here.
Free fall zine!
Finally, now that we’re in fall again, I want to remind you that I have four free seasonal mini zines available to download on my website. Herbalist/artist Rebecca Minifie and I started this project a year ago with the first of the zines, “Autumn Awe-bservation Starter Kit.” It’s hard to even remember this now, but early last fall we were in the thick of the delta wave and many people were feeling discouraged and lonely. Rebecca and I wanted to make a guide to helping people connect with the beauty and wonder of nature at a time when they might be missing many of their human connections. It was the start of a delightful year-long project of finding sweetness and awareness in every season through our free mini zines. Even though life’s activities have picked up a lot since last fall, may this zine help you just be present.
This was an especially link-filled newsletter — thank you for reading! I hope that you found something here to delight you today, and may you savor all the pleasures of fall!
